Let the Light In

By Jenny Downham and Louis Hill

‘A extraordinary book, tenderly told. There is so much loss, hope and care in its pages. I read it all at once, but it will stay with me for a very long time to come’ – Katya Balen

‘A nuanced, compelling and ultimat

Leah and Charlie's world shattered three years ago - and they're handling their grief in very different ways.

For Lean, it's love - however fobidden - that makes her feel alive again, while her brother Charlie is tempted by a suspiciously game-changing offer.

When these seemingly unconnected paths collide, it sends shockwaves through their whole community.

After all their secrets and lies, can Leah and Charlie find their way back into the light?

Jenny Downham

After I stopped wanting to be a ballerina (aged around seven) I felt as if there were only two choices of career for me – an actor or a writer. I was always reading, but I also loved performing. I was in all the school plays, but my favourite subject was creative writing. I went to university to study both drama and English, then I went to drama school, became an actor, but never stopped writing.
